Considerations When Designing Custom Team Uniforms

No matter what sport you play, having a custom team uniform goes a long way in setting your team apart from the competition. However, good custom uniforms do more than just look good.

Whether you want to design the uniform yourself or use professional, custom clothing services for the entire process, be sure to keep the following considerations in mind.

Design

It goes without saying that design is paramount when it comes to custom team uniforms. What kind of fit and shape are you looking for? What about the colors, logos, team names, player names and player numbers, as well as their placements?

Coming up with good looking designs is harder than it seems, so if all these questions seem too daunting, reach out with your ideas and our team of designers will help you out!

Fabric Quality

It doesn’t matter if you play rugby, tennis, soccer or cricket, all sports cause some measure of wear and tear on the apparel needed to play.

If your uniform is not made with high quality fabrics, all it takes is a few rough games for your clothes to look like they’re ready to retire.

Comfort

Looks aren’t everything! If you want your players to perform at their best, then you need uniforms that will keep them comfortable and offer support throughout the game.

Depending on the sport, this could be anything from extra breathability, to extra stretch, to keeping them warm and offering extra padding. We offer a wide range of fabrics of different compositions, widths, weights and properties, reach out and find out how La Crete can help your team.

Why Choose Sublimated Uniforms

Sublimation involves printing the entire design of the uniform on a special paper and then using heat to transfer the ink onto the fabric.

At La Crete we choose to make sublimated uniforms because the process of sublimation offers certain advantages not present in other customization processes.

Variety

Sublimation allows for almost limitless customization in terms of designs. Since colors, patterns, text, images, numbers and logos are transferred directly onto the fabric, almost anything can be printed.

The only limitation is that since sublimation printers use CMYK ink, there’s no way to print in white. If you want to include the color white, use white fabric and keep that part of the design transparent.

Variable Order Quantities

Thanks to the straightforward printing process, we can handle both small and large orders with the same care and attention to detail.

Quality

When ink is vaporized and transferred onto the fabric during the sublimation process, it integrates with the fibers instead of sitting on top of them. The result is that sublimated prints are of much higher quality than those of other printing methods.

Affordability

Printing designs directly onto the fabric means there’s less stitching, cutting or sewing required, which reduces labor costs and turnaround times without compromising quality. As expected, less work for us means lower costs for you.
